HorseFriends Seeks Full-time Executive Director

HorseFriends, Inc. is seeking a full-time executive director to serve as the chief executive of our non-profit organization whose purpose is to provide therapeutic riding opportunities in a Christ-centered environment. The ED reports to the Board of Directors and is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operation and carrying out the organization’s mission, goals and objectives as defined by the Board.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an ED of a non-profit.
  • Demonstrated and recognized fundraising experience.
  • Analytical and detail oriented, yet able to see the big picture.
  • Team player, encourager and team builder.
  • Excellent oral and written presentation skills.
  • Superior comfort level working with diverse groups of people.
  • Compassionate leader with a strong work ethic and a good sense of humor.
  • Christian Spiritual Leader with demonstrated depth of faith.
  • PATH Certified or experience with special needs children and adults preferred.

Job Duties:

  • Ensure ongoing program excellence, rigorous program evaluation, and consistent quality of finance and administration, fundraising and communications.
  • Develop, monitor and execute strategic plans as directed by the Board.
  • Expand revenue generating and fundraising activities to support operations, including grant writing with expectation of raising funds to cover Executive Director salary and expand programming.
  • Supervise website and other social media.
  • Provide support for volunteer recruitment, volunteer training and retention.
  • Support and manage team leaders and staff (paid and unpaid).
  • Support and prepare necessary documentation and program materials for ongoing PATH Intl. Center membership and eventual PATH Premier status.
  • Maintain regular and timely communications with Board members and attend monthly Board meetings.
  • Other Duties as Assigned by the Board.
